How it works

# How to _get started_ with Moodwell.

Create an account on a supported platform, choose what you want to track, and start with one meal, workout, dose, or mood check-in. Add a weekly plan when you are ready to organize those routines together.

## How do I set up my first week?

1. ### Install Moodwell or open it on desktop

Choose a platform on the download page. It shows the current store, beta, or waitlist option for each release. When a version is available to you, use the same account across supported devices.

2. ### Create an account and set your preferences

Choose the parts of your wellbeing you want to work on. Set up details within each layer: a routine in Fitness, food targets in Nutrition, or an item and schedule in Health. Start with one rather than filling everything in at once.

3. ### Track what happens

For a workout, record sets, reps, and weight. For a meal, check the food and portion before saving. For Health, record the dose you took. For a mood check-in, note mood, stress, energy, and what was happening.

4. ### Use the shared plan and insights

Place workouts and meals in the weekly planner, then open a day to see the details. Review recorded activity in daily insights and use the dashboard for comparisons over longer periods. A scheduled item and a completed record are shown separately.

## What could _a first day_ look like?

Before work, record a mood check-in. At lunch, save your meal and check its portions. In the evening, log the sets in your workout. When you review the day, you have a record of food, movement, and how you felt without reconstructing it from memory.

You do not need to record every part of the day. If you already track workouts, begin there and add a second layer only when it helps your routine.

## Start with _the part of your day_ you already track.

You can add more layers as your routine grows.

Questions, answered

## Questions about _getting started_

Start with manual tracking, then choose whether connected devices or AI would help your routine.

[Explore all FAQs](https://www.moodwell.ai/faq)

**Do I need a wearable or connected device?**

No. You can enter workouts, food, doses, and mood check-ins yourself. On Android, Health Connect is optional and can bring in steps, sleep, weight, and exercise records that other apps have already written there.

[See Health Connect setup](https://www.moodwell.ai/integrations/health-connect)

**Do I have to use AI to track my day?**

No. Manual workout logs, food entries, health records, and mood check-ins do not require an AI conversation. AI coaching, recognition, and guided tools are separate features that use credits when you request them.
