# What is your wellness app stack actually costing you?

Add up your wellness subscriptions with a transparent cost worksheet, verified reference prices and an honest test for what can be combined or kept.

The short answer

## How much does a wellness app stack cost?

There is no single typical price. Your cost is the total of the plans you actually pay for, plus wearable hardware and optional extras. A useful audit separates renewals from introductory offers, identifies duplicate jobs and keeps specialist tools that still earn their place. Fewer apps is not automatically better.

A food app, a workout log, something for sleep and a wearable membership. Each purchase made sense on its own. The combined receipt rarely gets the same attention.

This is a way to inspect that receipt without pretending everyone owns the same stack. The aim is to remove subscriptions that no longer do a useful job, not win a contest for having the fewest icons.

## What belongs in the total?

Start with your actual subscription settings and receipts. Include web purchases as well as Apple or Google billing. An app can remain on your phone long after you forget where the subscription lives. Record the renewal date, amount, currency and billing interval.

Separate recurring software from hardware. A ring bought last year and an annual membership are both costs, but they answer different questions. One is money already spent. The other is a decision approaching again.

Keep AI top-ups, optional content and accessories visible rather than folding them into an unexplained total. You may spend nothing on them. You may also discover that the subscription headline was not the whole bill. Neither outcome requires a dramatic spreadsheet.

Copy this structure using your own receipts.
| Service | Job it does | Next renewal | Amount and interval | Keep, test or cancel |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Your food tracker | Meals and portions | From receipt | Actual billed currency | Your decision |
| Your workout log | Sessions and history | From receipt | Actual billed currency | Your decision |
| Your listening app | A bedtime practice | From receipt | Actual billed currency | Your decision |
| Your wearable | Passive measurements | From receipt | Membership plus separate hardware | Your decision |

## What do current reference prices look like?

Published US/USD reference prices checked September 20, 2026. These are not a claim about your personal offer or a typical basket.
| Service | Published reference | What to keep separate |
| --- | --- | --- |
| MyFitnessPal Premium | [$79.99 per year](https://blog.myfitnesspal.com/myfitnesspal-membership-pricing-tiers/) | Premium+ is a different tier |
| Fitbod | [$95.99 per year](https://help.fitbod.me/hc/en-us/articles/360004904714-How-to-Subscribe-to-Fitbod) | Monthly billing and promotions differ |
| Oura membership | [$69.99 per year](https://ouraring.com/membership) | Ring hardware is additional |
| WHOOP One | [$199 per year in the US](https://support.whoop.com/s/article/Membership-Pricing?language=en_US) | Other tiers and regions differ |
| Moodwell web subscription | [$100 per year or $10 per month](https://www.moodwell.ai/pricing) | USD web reference; store offers and AI top-ups differ |

For an illustrative basket of MyFitnessPal Premium plus Fitbod, the published annual references above sum to $175.98 before applicable tax. Add Oura membership at its listed annual reference and the recurring total becomes $245.97, with ring hardware still excluded. This is arithmetic for a named example, not research into what people typically spend.

The examples are not equivalent product bundles. Moodwell does not replace a wearable sensor, every generated training plan or a favorite audio library. A lower combined bill is meaningful only if the remaining tools still do the jobs you need.

## Which subscriptions are doing the same job?

Write a verb beside each service: record, plan, listen, measure, reflect or share. Two apps both mentioning wellbeing may do completely different work. Two apps recording the same meal may genuinely overlap.

Then identify the work you do twice. Perhaps you copy a workout into a planner. Perhaps you type the same meal in two places because one diary has the food history and the other has the daily view. That duplication costs attention as well as money.

A connection can reduce duplicate entry, but inspect what it transfers. A workout summary may arrive without the individual sets. A nutrient total may arrive without the meal names. Connected accounts are not evidence of a complete shared history.

Do not erase the differences just to justify consolidation. A specialist app with a tool you use every week may deserve its place. The subscription you never open is a clearer candidate than the one whose purpose is simply hard to fit into a marketing comparison.

## How do you test an all-in-one replacement?

1. List the few workflows you actually repeat, including any specialist requirement.
2. Run those workflows in the candidate app before recreating your whole history.
3. Review a completed week: can you find the meals, sessions and notes you expected?
4. Keep the original archive and confirm which imports exist before cancelling access you need.

A broader app can simplify a routine when its individual workflows are good enough for your needs. It can also create a new problem if one weak workflow sends you back to the old app. Test the least glamorous task, like editing a portion or finding a previous set, early.

Moodwell’s argument is the shared record across Fitness, Health, Nutrition and Mindfulness. It is a reasonable fit to explore when those are the records you already juggle. It is not a claim that everyone can cancel every other subscription on day one.

## What is the cleanest way to act on the audit?

Make one decision at a time. Mark the service you no longer use, verify where it is billed and follow that provider’s cancellation process. Keep the confirmation. Deleting an app and cancelling a subscription are different actions.

For a service you are evaluating, write down what would make it worth keeping. “Used it more” is vague. “Used the saved routine for each scheduled session” is observable. You can make the decision from your record instead of from guilt about an unused purchase.

Revisit the total when an offer renews or your routine changes. A subscription that was useful during one season may be unnecessary in another. The audit does not need to become a new wellness habit with its own reminders. Once in a while, read the receipt.

A little more context

## Questions, answered

**Can one app replace every wellness subscription?**

Usually the answer depends on the jobs involved. A broad record can replace some overlapping logs, but it does not replace wearable hardware or every specialist content library. Evaluate the actual workflows before comparing the bill.

**Is the example total what most people spend?**

No. It is an illustrative sum of named, published annual reference prices. It does not come from a survey and says nothing about a typical user’s subscriptions, discounts, currency or tax.

**Does deleting an app stop the subscription?**

Do not assume that it does. Use the billing provider’s cancellation process and retain the confirmation. Account deletion, subscription cancellation and keeping an export are separate tasks.

**Does Moodwell include unlimited AI?**

No. Moodwell’s subscription includes an AI-credit allowance, with top-ups available. Credit use depends on the feature. Compare the included allowance and any extra purchases as part of your actual cost rather than assuming every AI action is free.
