Account and data deletion

Delete your account, or pause it and keep your history.

You can do either from inside Moodwell, under Settings, then Your account. Both stop your subscription. Only one of them erases anything.

Two options, and they are not the same.

  1. Archive, if you might come back

Your subscription stops renewing and the account locks, but nothing is deleted. Your history, entries and progress stay where they are, and you can restore the account yourself at any time. If you archive with time left on a plan you already paid for, restoring inside that time costs nothing.

  2. Delete, if you want it gone

Your subscription is cancelled and your account and data are erased straight away. There is no waiting period and no way to undo it, so the app asks you to type the word DELETE before it will go ahead.

If you cannot sign in

Ask us by email instead.

Write to privacy@moodwell.ai from the email address on the account, with the subject “Moodwell account deletion request”. We may ask for limited information to confirm you control the account. Never send a password. We will tell you when the deletion is done, and whether anything had to be kept.

Please note

What happens to your subscription, and what we keep.

Archiving and deleting both cancel your Moodwell subscription, including one billed through Google Play, so you do not have to cancel it separately. If anything stops us completing that automatically, the app says so rather than reporting success, and we finish it by hand. You can always check the subscription yourself in Google Play.

Deleting is not quite total, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. We keep payment records with your name and account removed, because the money still has to reconcile with the app stores and our own accounts. Those records can no longer be linked back to you. Everything else goes.
