How to import Shotsy history into Moodwell

Import a Shotsy CSV into Moodwell: review injections, weight readings, and symptoms, understand skipped weights, and avoid duplicate history.

Moodwell3 minute read

In brief

Add your GLP-1 item in Moodwell, choose Import history from Shotsy on the completion screen, and select a Shotsy CSV export. Review the counts before importing injections, weights, and symptoms. Existing-day weights are skipped, but importing the same injections or symptoms again can create duplicates.

What does the Shotsy CSV import include?

Moodwell imports injections, recorded weight in pounds, and populated symptom columns from a Shotsy CSV export. Injections are attached to the GLP-1 item you added, weights join your shared weight history, and symptoms are linked to that item. Calories, protein, and water columns are not imported.

This is a one-time file import, not a connection to your Shotsy account. New Shotsy entries do not automatically appear in Moodwell. Keep your original CSV until you have checked the imported history.

Prepare the file before opening Moodwell

  1. 1

    Save the Shotsy CSV

Export your history as a CSV from Shotsy and save it somewhere you can select from the device running Moodwell.

  2. 2

    Leave the file unchanged

Avoid renaming columns or editing values before the import.

  3. 3

    Add the GLP-1 item

Complete the GLP-1 item setup in Health. On its completion screen, select Import history from Shotsy.

  4. 4

    Choose the file

Select Choose your Shotsy CSV. The Found in this file panel shows injection, weight, and symptom counts before you select Import.

Read the review before you confirm

The review shows counts, not a row-by-row editor. Compare those counts with your CSV and check that you chose the intended GLP-1 item. The weight count also identifies readings set aside as outliers, such as a value far from the rest of the file that may use a different unit.

Before importing, check the medication, dates, dose amounts, and recorded weight column in the source file. If the counts do not match what you expect, use Choose a different file or leave the import to check the original export first.

  • Injection count for the GLP-1 item you are adding
  • Weight count and any outliers set aside
  • Symptom count from populated symptom columns
  • Whether you have already imported this file or its date range

Will importing Shotsy overwrite or duplicate my records?

Weights fill gaps only. If Moodwell already has a weight reading on the same local calendar day, the imported reading for that day is skipped. The import also keeps no more than one weight reading per previously empty day from the file.

Injections and symptoms do not have the same duplicate protection. Importing the same history again can create additional copies of those entries. Do not rerun an entire file just because some weights were skipped: skipped weights usually mean that those days already had a record.

Check the Moodwell history after import

The result displays the number of injections, weight readings, and symptoms imported, including weights skipped because they were already logged. Open the GLP-1 item's history and compare several dates and dose amounts with the export. Check the shared weight history separately.

If a save fails partway through, do not assume that nothing was saved and immediately repeat the whole import. Keep the CSV and the result details, inspect the saved history, and contact support about the missing records so you can avoid creating duplicate injections or symptoms.

The imported history remains a personal record. Questions about prescribed treatment, dose, or symptoms belong with an appropriate clinician or pharmacist.
